MADISON, Wis. – The Discovery Building on the UW–Madison campus invites kids, families and learners of all ages to roll up their sleeves and delve into the hidden universe right under our toes.
“The Buzz in Your Backyard” will be held Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Discovery Building from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public.
Through a variety of hands-on exploration stations, participants will be able to build a microscope, investigate microbes in the soil, learn about Wisconsin insects, invasive species and much more.
The event is part of Saturday Science, an ongoing program that helps community members connect with science in a casual atmosphere. The program typically is held on the first Saturday of each month at the Discovery Building, 330 N. Orchard St., Madison. For more information, visit discovery.wisc.edu/saturdayscience.
The next event on November 4 will explore the planet Mars.
