Pluripotent Stem Cells
REAGENTS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING ASTROCYTE CELLS FROM INDUCED PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS
WARF: P230030US02

Inventors: Valentina Lo Sardo

The Invention
A UW-Madison researcher has developed an improved method for generating astrocyte cells from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). The new protocol is fast (15-20 days in culture) and produces ~100% astrocyte-like cells, which have been characterized via cell markers and will soon be evaluated for the functional properties of the astrocytes.
