WARF: P240382US01

Inventors: Bruce Klein, Marcos Isidoro

The Invention

UW-Madison researchers have developed an immortalized keratinocyte cell line from the little brown bat (a species that is now endangered). They utilized that cell line to create a model of bat hibernation to study white nose syndrome. The researchers are presently getting requests for the cells, and they have a paper that will be published in Science about the work which will likely generate additional interest.
